Mingo Matters Foundation in the Community 💚

We were honored to participate in the Black Family Wellness Expo hosted by the Greater Mobile (AL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. —and what an incredible experience it was!

This event was nothing short of amazing. It was a powerful reminder that community, connection, and care are essential to collective wellness.

At the Mingo Matters Foundation table, we were intentional about creating a space where education met compassion. We provided resources centered around:

✨ “Guarding Your Mind: Su***de Prevention & Crisis Support”
✨ “Stay Ready So You Don’t Have to Get Ready: Stress Management Tools”
✨ “Mind Matters Too: Mental Health & Chronic Illness Support”
✨ “Breaking Cycles: Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)”
✨ “Seeing the Whole Child: Autism Awareness & Support”
✨ “Equity in Action: Closing the Gap in Mental Health Care and other Health Disparities.”

We believe access to information is access to empowerment and our goal is always to meet people where they are with tools they can actually use. 🧰

A special thank you to our therapist Danelle Kennedy, LPC, for showing up and sharing valuable mental health education and support with our community.

Moments like these remind us why we do this work. When one person is supported, the entire community feels it. 🤗

Collective Wellness Is a Strategic Practice.💚

New NAMI/Ipsos poll findings show rising concern about the U.S. mental health system — and strong public opposition to cuts to services, crisis lines, housing, and Medicaid.

Stress and poor mental health are climbing, and people want leaders to protect the supports they rely on.

A huge thank you to and the Mingo Matters Foundation for hosting a wonderful group therapy session with the ladies of McKemie Place! 💙
We also want to give a special shout-out to Claudia Leatherwood Foundation and The Village Community Mental Health. This wouldn’t have been possible without your amazing support!

It's That Time of Year Again~

Our Annual Grief Awareness Event is here ~Presented by The London’s Bridge Program of the Mingo Matters Foundation, In Collaboration with The Claudia Leatherwood Legacy Foundation❤️

Still We Rise: Healing Grief Through Faith, Movement and Community🤗

Lets talk about Sneaky Grief👀

Grief has a way of settling deep into the body— tightening our chest, weighing down our spirit, and disrupting the rhythm of our days. This year, we’re focusing on how movement, community, and gentle release can help us loosen what grief tries to hold hostage. 👁😱

Whether your loss is recent or years old, the holidays can stir emotions you didn’t expect. You deserve a space where your feelings are seen, honored, and held with care.🤗

Still We Rise is designed to help you breathe again, reconnect with yourself, and move what words cannot always express.❤️

We’ll explore:
✨ How grief gets trapped in the body
✨ How mindful movement helps us release it
✨ How community brings us back to ourselves
✨ Gentle strategies to carry into the holiday season

To let go doesn’t mean to erase your loss, it means embracing it differently, carrying it with more compassion, and giving yourself permission to heal.🔥

Come On Out Y'all on December 6th~
We gon learn.
We gon move.
We gon breathe.

Let’s rise together.✨️
