THE ICONIC LOVE SERIES | PART 4: “ICONIC LOVE” ❤️

A honeymoon…
A promise…
A journey that led them back to where it all began.
1975–2025

On the exact day of their 50th wedding anniversary, our Pastor, The Rev. Dr. Jonathan L. Yates and our First Lady, Lady Doris L. Yates, returned to the Bahamas, where they honeymooned as newlyweds, to renew the vows they made to one another five decades ago. Against the breathtaking backdrop of turquoise waters and white sands, they celebrated a love story that had come beautifully full circle.

Surrounded by the family their love created, they once again chose each other, honoring a covenant that has endured through every season and a marriage that God has faithfully sustained.

“Iconic Love” is more than the celebration of a vow renewal. It is the culmination of 50 years of faith, commitment, sacrifice, family, and a love that has stood the test of time.

Five decades later, their testimony remains: God is faithful, love endures, and covenant still matters.

“Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.” Song of Songs 8:7 (NIV)

50 years of love.
50 years of family. 50 years of God’s faithfulness.

For five decades, God has blessed and sustained the marriage of our Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jonathan L. Yates, and our First Lady, Lady Doris L. Yates, building through their union a beautiful family and a lasting legacy of love and faith.

To celebrate this golden milestone, their family came together aboard Icon of the Seas to recreate the honeymoon that began their journey 50 years ago. 🛳️❤️

From where their love story began to all that God has allowed it to become, “50 Years” is a celebration of a marriage kept by faith, strengthened by love, and covered by His grace.

THE ICONIC LOVE SERIES | PART 2: “THERE GOES THE QUEEN” 👑❤️

A woman of faith.
A devoted wife.
A loving mother and grandmother.
A First Lady.
An educator.
A woman of beauty, brilliance, grace, and unmistakable elegance.

On Sunday, on her birthday, the children and grandchildren of our First Lady, Lady Doris L. Yates gathered at El Bethel Primitive Baptist Church to honor the remarkable woman they are blessed to call Mom and Grammy.

For 50 years, she has walked faithfully beside her husband in marriage and has stood alongside him in ministry, serving with grace and devotion as First Lady of El Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. As a mother and Grammy, she has poured that same love, wisdom, faith, and devotion into her children and grandchildren, helping shape the generations that now carry her legacy forward. And for 40 years, she poured her wisdom and passion into generations of students as an educator.

Yet beyond the milestones is the woman herself. Strikingly beautiful, intelligent, charming, poised, and elegant, she carries a presence all her own, while remaining deeply rooted in faith, family, and service to God.

“There Goes the Queen” is a celebration of a woman whose beauty is matched by her substance, whose grace is reflected in her service, and whose greatest legacy can be seen in the generations she has loved, taught, nurtured, and inspired. Many have done well, but she excelleth them all.

THE ICONIC LOVE SERIES | PART 1: “HE’S KEPT YOU” 🙏🏽❤️

53 years of ministry.
A lifetime of service.
A legacy built by faith and sustained by the keeping power of God.

On Sunday, our Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jonathan L. Yates, celebrated his 53rd Pastoral Anniversary at El Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, marking more than five decades of faithful leadership, sacrifice, preaching, and unwavering devotion to the work of the Kingdom, with his wife, First Lady Doris L. Yates, faithfully by his side.

Through the years, God has used his ministry to bless the El Bethel church family and generations of families beyond its walls. Through every season, the Lord has sustained him, strengthened him, and allowed the seeds planted through his ministry to continue bearing fruit.

“He’s Kept You” is a celebration of a Pastor, husband, father, grandfather, spiritual leader, and servant of God whose life and ministry stand as a testimony to what God can do through faithfulness, obedience, and a heart committed to His calling.

After 53 years, the message is beautifully simple:

God called him.
God sustained him. And through it all, God has kept him.

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
