Rebuilding Ezra is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women affected by domestic violence who lack the familial support to leave their situation.

Our goal is to come alongside these women and help them rebuild their lives. Rebuilding Ezra draws inspiration from the biblical Ezra, who was a leader dedicated to restoring hope and rebuilding a broken community. Just as Ezra returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple and renew the faith of the people, our mission is to rebuild lives and restore dignity for those affected by domestic violence. Through our efforts, we aim to provide a foundation of support and resources, just as Ezra provided a foundation for a new beginning for his people.

This quote captures the heart of why Rebuilding Ezra exists. Many of the women we serve are rebuilding without the support most of us take for granted — no safety net, no extra hands, no one to fall back on. They are carrying the weight of survival, healing, parenting and provision all at once.

When we step in as a community, we become part of their village. Practical support like rent, utilities, and household essentials isn’t just help — it’s relief. It allows a mom to breathe, to rest and to focus on building a stable future for herself and her children.

We are so grateful for the way our community has come together through donations to make rebuilding — and staying the course — a little easier. 🧡

These are the remaining items still needed. This apartment is small and these items will help make the space more functional and support basic, everyday needs. When they started over, they had only beds, clothes and a few linens.

We would also gladly accept gently used versions of these items. Thank you for helping turn this space into a truly livable home.

✨ Rebuilding Update 🤍 ✨

We are so grateful to share that our Rebuilding Ezra mom is officially moved in and settling into her new space. Because of your generosity, she had so much to start with and we’ve spent time sorting through the donations we received to make sure everything truly fits her apartment and her needs in this season.

As often happens with small spaces, a few items just didn’t work—but that helped us clearly identify what is still needed to fully support her as she rebuilds.

We’ve created an updated list of remaining needs. These items can be purchased as tax-deductible donations through our Sparks account on Walmart.com (link below)or if you already have something gently used that matches one of these needs, that would be just as meaningful. (A used washer and dryer woulbe amazing also so she doesnt have to take her child to the laundry mat)

Every item helps turn an apartment into a safe, stable home and reminds her that she’s not rebuilding alone.

Big step forward 🤍

One of our Rebuilding Ezra moms has officially moved into a new place! While she has beds, she’s starting from scratch and could use help filling her home.

She’s in need of basic household and furniture items — things like a couch, table, chairs, dressers, lamps, kitchen items, and other everyday essentials. Anything to help make her space feel like home would be so appreciated.

If you have items you’d be willing to donate, they can be picked up as soon as possible.

2025 was a big year for Rebuilding Ezra — even if we’re still so small.

We helped cover rent and utilities for several women who were doing the hard work of rebuilding. We helped a mom get into a car so she could keep moving forward. We became a recognized charity with Walmart Spark Good, opening doors we didn’t even have access to before. And we made meaningful connections that will help us keep growing.

None of this felt flashy — but it felt important.

We’re proud of what we were able to do with what we had. Proud to stand alongside domestic violence survivors who are choosing stability, growth and a new future for themselves and their children.

Our heart has always been the same: not to “rescue,” but to walk with women who are already taking the right steps toward success — and help remove some of the obstacles along the way.

Excited for what’s ahead and grateful for everyone who believes in this work. We’re just getting started.

🚗 Looking for a Car 🚗

We’re trying to help one of our Rebuilders get connected with a cheap, affordable and reliable vehicle. Her current car is no longer dependable and having reliable transportation is crucial for her to keep moving forward.

If you know of anything for sale locally that’s budget-friendly—or if someone has a car they’re no longer using and would consider donating—please let us know!
