Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions that can affect a person's physical, learning, language or behavior. These conditions usually begin during childhood and can impact a persons daily life throughout their life.
Our funded agency Randolph County Sheltered Industries & MPPS Employment is a non-profit organization that gives job opportunities to disabled individuals in the surrounding area.

We only have 3 more days to make our voices heard!! Here are some interesting statistics you may use when telling the Department of labor why sheltered employment is valuable and necessary:

The cost to replace sheltered employment in Missouri for a year with Federally funded day services so our employees aren’t left isolated at home = $190,000,000.

$0 of that tax payer expense will go to paychecks for employees with disabilities compared to the $33,724,176 in annual wages that sheltered employment currently puts into their pockets.

But perhaps the most important point we can make to the DOL is that our employees have a right to choose where they work, and that choice should be protected!!
