Canyonlands Field Institute Outdoor education nonprofit offering wilderness and archaeology adventures in the red rock country around Moab, Utah: For adults, families, schools.

CFI has field camps, river trips, lodge based explorations and camping trips to various locations around magnificent southeast Utah. We work with school and youth groups as well as adults and families to provide inspiring and educational outdoor and cultural history and archaeology experiences. CFI specializes in multi-day custom river and land-based trips and day tours. Adult trip fees help subsidize school and youth programs.

This is a 7 day summer camp for Native Teens from any Tribe or Nation. All food, river gear, and camping equipment are included.

Introducing a new Adult Adventure Seminar: Flowing Through History!

In partnership with The Returning Rapids Project and The Nature Conservancy, CFI is excited to introduce this brand new trip – a deep dive in the history and culture of the Bears Ears and Lower San Juan River regions of the American Southwest.

Join guest experts, CFI Naturalist Guides, and other curious travelers for a trip through the remote canyons of the Lower San Juan River. This Adventure Seminar is designed to explore the deep cultural, ecological, and geological history that has shaped the San Juan river and surrounding watershed.
