Our Wonky has a big day tomorrow. She finally gets to go home with her adopter. ♥️ So today we went on her last pack hike. Even cousin Penny got to join. Bittersweet day, but what a great life she has ahead of her.

Wonky and her kitten. She is such a kitten magnet. They love her so much and will actually moew for her until they find her. The patience she has with them is unreal, and they trust her so much....even as she occasionally chases them mach speed through the house. Maybe it's because her crazy matches their crazy 🤪

Exciting Wonky update 🩷
As promised before her 2nd surgery, Wonky had some potential exciting news to share. Then she had her unexpected cleft revision surgery, and we've all been holding our breath, hoping she healed. The surgery site is holding and looking really good 🤞🏻 So I feel safe sharing the wonderful news that she has been adopted by a wonderful family and as soon as she is medically cleared she will make her way to them. I couldn't be happier with her new family! She is going to have a big brother and two wonderful humans who already love her. They have been so patient and understanding while waiting for her.

This girl is keeping me on my toes this time around. She has soooo much energy and is going crazy with boredom. Good news, though so far, the remaining sutures are holding on. All the restrictions are going to be worth it so she can heal...right 😬🙃

It's been a rough couple of days. Wonky's recovery isn't going as smoothly this time around. While she's doing great and feels fine. Her repair and sutures have had different plans. Half of her repair has opened up, and the tissue is pretty angry looking. However, the part that remains sutured is the very, very important section directly over the hole that remained in her palate. She is on even more extreme resting restrictions while we hold our breath and cross our toes that the remaining sutures hold. This basically means she's in her pen or on my lap. She can't be trusted to not try and wrestle. She's bored and fast 🫠 Meanwhile Tabbytha the kitten, remains her constant companion. If you're looking for the most perfect dog friendly kitten to adopt, she is the perfect kitty.

Wonky is doing great today following her surgery. I swear this girl is just built different, nothing bothers her. Could help that she also has great kitten nurses. One of them actually climbed into her pen to cuddle her earlier. ♥️

Well, today didn't go quite how I had hoped. Wonky did have a small opening in the cleft repair that her surgeon felt needed to be repaired. The concern with leaving it open is that eventually
food would find its way from her mouth to her sinuses, causing an infection. After much debate, I decided to go ahead and have the revision performed. The repair was small, but she did have to have several teeth removed in order to have enough extra tissue to cover the area. Our sweet girl is such a trooper and came through another big surgery, just wondering where lunch was. As soon as the technician offered her food, she gobbled it down.

She's home now, has a full belly from dinner, and has good pain meds so she can sleep great tonight. She'll be on pretty strict, no fun for the next two weeks again, but we're ready this time and know the routine.

Also she demanded to be held like a baby the entire two hour car ride home. 😇👸
