Check out YGP's fun annual Harvest Festival on September 19th! It's a great time, and if you have the bandwidth, consider volunteering to help with the day's activities. We at Grand Area Mentoring love YGP, which has been a longtime partner, supporting mentors and mentees with meeting space, kitchen access, and outdoor opportunities like the Harvest Festival! 🥰

One hour a week can mean a lot to a young person.

A chance to talk. To laugh. To try something new. To have another caring adult who keeps showing up.

Grand Area Mentoring is welcoming new mentors this fall. If you’ve ever thought about mentoring, this is a great time to give it a try.

“Thank you for being my mentor this year. You have made me feel more like myself... All the art we did was so cool. Even though we see each other one day a week, I still remember the first time we met.” —Moab mentee, May 2026

That’s what one hour a week can mean to a Moab kid.

Become a mentor this fall.

Think back to someone who showed up for you.

A coach. A teacher. A neighbor. A relative. Someone who listened, encouraged you, or helped you feel like you mattered.

That’s what mentoring can be.

This fall, you can be that person for a student in Moab. Just one hour a week during the school year can help build confidence, connection, and joy.

The impact is real — and it starts with showing up.

Mentored students in Moab are building confidence, strengthening school success, and feeling more connected. Sometimes the biggest changes begin with something simple: one caring adult, one hour a week.

Fall is a great time to become a mentor and begin the school year alongside a student who could use another person in their corner.

Join us at New Mentor Orientation on September 29 from 5:15–7pm at Margaret Hopkin Middle School.

One hour a week can mean so much.

A steady adult showing up, listening, laughing, playing, encouraging — that’s the heart of mentoring. And when a new school year begins, it’s the perfect time to start.

Grand Area Mentoring is looking for caring adults to become mentors this fall. You don’t need special experience. Just consistency, kindness, and one hour a week.

Yesterday, Jerry Shue, Moab's beekeeper extraordinaire, introduced mentors and mentees to the world of apiculture! They got to taste nectar from the comb (it wasn't honey quite yet) and learn all about the inner life of hives. What better way to spend an afternoon in the Beehive State?! 🐝

This is mentoring in Moab.
