Come take a walk with YGP this Thursday morning (6/25, 8:30am)! 🌞🌻

As part of a grant from Get Healthy Utah, we're conducting a walk audit within a one mile radius of YGP's main campus on Thursday. This one-mile walk will help us assess conditions related to food access, safety (lighting, sidewalks, crossings), transportation, and more. Your perspective and insights will help us build a shared understanding of local food access. Meet us at YGP at 8:30am!

(P.S. - We'll have coffee and breakfast treats available β˜•)

Registration is now open for this summer's Table Talks workshop and dinner series!

We will be hosting four workshops this summer designed to foster garden-based learning and community gathering. Each workshop includes a one-hour talk and a garden-fresh, themed dinner. This year's workshops will discuss pollinators, soil health, edible flowers, and Moab's early orchard history!

Registration is $30 per person per workshop (excluding our FREE first workshop on July 15), and seating is limited. Reserve your spot today at www.youthgardenproject.org/workshops.

July 15 - Honey Bees: An Evening of Foraging
Meet your backyard pollinators! Join us for an in-depth discussion of honey bee lore and beekeeping with Jerry Shue, featuring several dishes based on honey and seasonal fare prepared by YGP staff.

August 12 - In the Roots: Building Healthy Soil
Happy soil yields happy harvests! Join us for an in-depth discussion on building and maintaining healthy garden soil with Cory Farnsworth, followed by a garden-fresh dinner featuring delicious root vegetables and YGP-style dirt cake.

August 26 - Bountiful Bouquets: Edible Flowers
Why just arrange a bouquet when you could eat it, too? Join local flower farmers Jess Oldham and Melisa Morgan in a discussion and arrangement of edible flowers, followed by a beautiful garden-fresh and floral-forward dinner.

September 23 - Peach Days: Moab's Fruit Legacy
Before uranium and Jeeps, Moab had peaches! Join Megan Vickery and Allie Donnell from the Moab Museum in a discussion of Moab’s early orchard history, followed by a garden-fresh dinner featuring the season's best fruit and produce.

We hope to see you at one (or many!) of these workshops! 🐝πŸͺ±πŸ’πŸ‘
