Kane Creek Development Watch and our local partner Living Rivers have filed a lawsuit to permanently remove the invalid water rights that the developers have been using during construction, and plan to use as the sole supply for their new luxury resort. This kind of lawsuit is naturally complex and has required a lot of volunteer research and funding for the badass law firm we hired, Clyde Snow out of Salt Lake City. This work already halted construction over a year ago, and construction has not begun again since then. Using their tailored state legislation to overcome county zoning and road requirements does not allow them to overcome water law. For those of you who are interested in the technicalities, will be making some more posts explaining what this is about and how it works – but for now, thank you so much to everyone who has helped with this, either through donating time, money, or signing up as a member so that we can achieve standing in court.
