es clicking and includes narrow single-track, rugged jeep trails, sandy washes, ‘Moab-style slickrock’, a short section of dirt road, a few sections of no-track, a very old mining trail and a couple sections of fixed line traverse. Views will take your breath away, and include the spectacular red rocks of “Behind the Rocks Wilderness” and “Amasa Back” area, also view the sheer vertical walls of Pritchett, Hunter and Kane Creek Canyons and views into Canyonlands National Park. BIG NEWS!

The Moab Trail Half Marathon has officially been selected as the 2026 USATF Trail Half Marathon National Championship!

We are incredibly honored and privileged to host the nation’s best trail runners on this challenging and spectacular course.

Set against Moab’s iconic red rock landscape, this course has challenged and inspired some of the best trail runners in the world. Over the years, we’ve witnessed world-class competition, breakthrough performances, and unforgettable battles on terrain that demands both strength and strategy.

The 2026 championship will include all age groups. The Open division (19-39) will compete for overall national titles, with age group championships awarded in 5-year increments from 40 through 90+, as well as a junior under-18 division. From rising stars to seasoned competitors, national titles will be on the line across generations.

This event has always showcased not only elite talent, but also extraordinary age-group performances — athletes proving that excellence has no age limit. We can’t wait to see who steps up to claim the title this year.

Whether you're chasing a national championship or ready to test yourself on one of the most scenic and exciting trail half marathons in the country, we invite and welcome runners of all ages to be part of this special event.

Moab Trail Marathon 2025: What a fantastic race day! Perfect weather, amazing competition, and two course records made it one for the books. Thank you to all the runners, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who helped make it such a success. It's been a month and I'm still catching my breath from race week — but so grateful!!!
Today marks 19 years since the day my life was saved on the marathon course. I’m filled with gratitude for every person and dog who played a role in that rescue and everyone who refused to give up on me. The Moab Trail Marathon happens because of you — because you gave me my life back, and with it, the opportunity to keep building this community. Forever grateful.
Thank you all!

Race Weekend Is Almost Here!

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend in Moab, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome all our runners to the trails!

The 10K and Saturday Half Marathon are officially full, but there’s still space available in the Marathon and Sunday Half Marathon—so if you’re thinking about joining us, now’s your chance!

Hey Runners! I hope everyone is enjoying the last bit of summer and getting in some great training runs. I wanted to let you know that the race is nearly full. There are 16 spots left in the Marathon, 13 in the Half, and 10 spots in the 10k. Sign up quickly if you'd like to run! We'll start a waitlist once the race fills up. You'll need to sign-up for the waitlist (no charge) and will get an email from RunSignUp once/if your spot comes available. Elites and USATF age group runners, we have saved spots for you.
