Every school has a story—and so do the people who’ve been part of it.

As part of our intergenerational storytelling project, an elementary student interviewed an alum who attended our school many years ago. Their conversation captured the spirit of community that continues to shape us today.

We’re excited to share these meaningful connections and celebrate the legacy of learning that spans generations in Mitchellville, Iowa.
Our fifth interview is with a past student of Mitchellville SEP Mitchellville Elementary and Mitchellville Highschool, Debbie Cooper who is interviewed by Kaylee. Debbie Cooper attended Mitchellville Elementary in the sixties and graduated from Mitchellville Highschool in the seventies. We hope you enjoy this interview.

If you are a previous student of Mitchellville Elementary and would like to participate in this project by being interviewed, please reach out to Thomas Mitchell Historical Society or one of its members to be notified for our next round of interviews.
