Dear The Orphan Empowerment Society Sierra Leone (TOES),
I humbly thank you for selecting me as an honoree for the Humanitarian Goodwill Award 2026 at the 8th Annual Humanitarian Goodwill Awards. I thank the leadership, organizers, and members of TOES for this recognition, and for the work you do every day for the orphaned and vulnerable children of Sierra Leone.
I do not receive this honor alone. I share it with everyone who stands with Muna's Heart To Hand Foundation: our volunteers, our donors, our partners at the City of Rest Rehabilitation Center, and the families and young people who trust us to walk alongside them. I founded the Foundation in honor of my late mother, Memuna, who taught me that compassion means showing up for others, especially when life is hardest. With every meal we share during Ramadan, every student we support, and every young person we help on the road to recovery from kush addiction, we carry her spirit forward.
The theme you chose this year, "Compassion in Action, Impact That Lasts," speaks directly to my heart. I know our work remains far from finished. I renew my commitment to serve the children, women, and families of Sierra Leone, to expand mental health awareness, and to build healthier and more inclusive communities at home and across the diaspora.
I look forward to celebrating with you and my fellow honorees on Friday, November 13, 2026, at the Bintumani Hotel. Thank you, TOES, for seeing this work and for encouraging all of us to keep going. Together, we can transform lives.
