Four Way Farm Inc

Four Way Farm Inc Four Way Farm is a small horse rescue & sanctuary for unwanted, abused, neglected and retired horses. It was a dream that took 34 years to become a reality

My name is Margaret Hill. Four Way Farm was created in 2008 when my late husband, Albert Hill, who always knew my passion for caring for rescue horses, bought this 10 acre property in Mitchell Ga. I have since had another 4 acres next to me donated to give me extra grazing pasture. My husband was battling cancer & passed away in 2010, but his gift of this property my love for horses gives me even more reason to take care of these beautiful animals.

It's been one year since Sweet Pea came to join us at Four Way Farm. She has come a long way, put on over 300 # & has an incredible calm nature. She loves to be groomed, & listens to all my problems but never gives me any trouble. So Four Way Farm has 2 resident therapists, Breeze & Sweet Pea.

Four Way Farm is a small non-profit horse rescue facility with 9 horses. Please go to Fourwayrescue.org & any donation will be truly appreciated. Winter is fast approaching & is always the most expensive time of the year. Thank you.

Last Saturday, Four Way Farm welcomed Quinn & Jillian, who came to volunteer for the morning. Quinn worked with Breeze, 16 year old ex-racehorse & Jillian worked with Boca, 28 year old ex-polo horse. They groomed, untangled mane & tail, picked hooves, sprayed for flies & then returned them to their field. Then they worked on Nutmeg, 30 year old welsh pony & Roger, 30 year old arab. Of course they were both under my watchful eye. Quinn, who hasn't been around horses very much, did very well. Even though Breeze is a big guy, he is a softy & loves children. All 4 horses looked very smart after their spa treatment. Thank you both of you for coming. I hope you can come again & learn some more about horses.

Sweet Pea is an amazing horse. She has been here 10 months & is looking fabulous with her gorgeous black, shiny summer coat. Nothing seems to upset her, she is always willing to let me groom her, pick her feet, fly-spray her & just love on her while in the field, sometimes without a halter. Her name says it all-- she is a sweet horse!!

Roland did a fabulous job representing Four Way Farm in the parade.Being an arab he was extremely vocal & excited but he walked nice & calm & I think enjoyed himself. Alot of children petted him. I had an old saddle pad embroidered, by Rags & Riches of Gibson, with our name on & it looked super. Thank you Roland. Also my thanks to John Hill, my son, & Julia Huynh, his girl friend, for coming out here today & helping me. Thank you also to Steve Echols for the use of his truck & trailer.

Our Story

As a young girl growing up in England, Margaret Hill dreamt of riding horses.

She worked at local stables, mucking stalls to earn a lesson or two. As she grew older, Margaret volunteered at a stable for rescue horses. One horse, in particular, drew her attention as he was elderly and nearly blind in his one remaining eye, the other lost in a cruel experience. While working with these horses, Margaret knew one day she wanted to care for rescue horses if & when circumstances would allow.

In 2008, Margaret's late husband Albert, who always knew her passion for horses, bought the 14-acre property that is now Four Way Farm. Immediately Margaret fulfilled her dream by accepting horses in need of tenderness and care.
