, Helping with Horsepower launched the now nationally recognized bike rebuild program. With several piolet programs throughout the US, the bike rebuild program serves as an opportunity for at risk youth to transform a neglected motorcycle into something beautiful and functional much like their own lives. In 2015, Helping with Horsepower partnered with Reclamation-Ranch to launch the HWH therapeutic riding program. Utilizing the SpiritHorse International 77 step program, Helping with Horsepower assists individuals with special needs to achieve their goals and full potential through interactions with horses. Therapeutic riding is an organic combination of speech, physical, and relationship-building therapy. Our program builds a variety of skills, Balance and coordination, Flexibility and core muscle strength, Sequencing, Speech and communication, Self-esteem and self-confidence. Several of our therapeutic riding instructors come from a variety of specialties and backgrounds including ASL, LAY counseling, behavioral specialist, EGC methods, and military veterans. In 2019, Helping with Horsepower rolled out the Heroes Helping with Horsepower veterans program. Our goal for the Heroes Helping with Horsepower Equine Therapy Program is to make a difference in the mental and physical health of individuals that have survived trauma, through interaction with our horses. We provide a safe place to feel and address emotions through the human-animal bond. Aligned with the Helping with Horsepower mission, the HHwH program is creating a community of individuals born or diagnosed with limitations, we create opportunities of purpose, wellbeing and growth.
