🎣 BIG DAY ON PATOKA LAKE! 🎣
Due to flooding at Rocky Point, the Mitchell Jr/Sr High School Bass Team pivoted to Patoka Lake today. They competed against 39 teams from across Indiana in the Indiana Bass Federation Youth South Trail!
Our anglers absolutely crushed it. Here are the highlights:
🐟 Junior High Division
3rd Place: Rookies Layla Stillions and Alaina Cessna weighed in at 6.27 lbs in their very first tournament! Shoutout to boat captain Tim Stillions. (We missed our other JH teams this weekend!)
🏆 High School Division
2nd Place & BIG BASS Winners: Kate Conner and Kaden Mikels (Captain Kevin Conner) brought in 16.33 lbs, including a massive 5.52 lb Big Bass! This keeps them as the current IBFYS points leaders with a 5-point bonus!
10th Place: Jett and Wyatt Blais (Captain Matt Blais) locked in a 5-fish limit weighing 11.18 lbs!
11th Place: Rookie Tajay Alexander and veteran Ryliegh Torres brought in 4 fish for 10.16 lbs! (Captain Don Goldsberry).
Congrats to IBF members Larry Hostetler, Wall-Polly, and Smith on taking the HS win with 18.57 lbs!

We cannot compete without our incredible volunteer boat captains. Huge thanks to Coach Don Goldsberry, Jody Blackburn, Tim Stillions, Chase Hamilton, Kevin Conner, Kevin New, Matt Blais, Zack Kern, Bill Thacker, and Tommy Wilder.
🙏 Also we want to thank several of our parents for showing up and feeding the team during the weigh-in.

We are officially on the hunt for a boat captain to join us for an epic upcoming season! Saturday May 30 UPDATE

FINALLY received approval and we are on. Please note location change

Saturday May 30 Patoka Lake
Newton Stewart South ramp

Tournament hours 6:30-2:30pm ET

Need everyone in the water ready to go by 6:15am

When you arrive at ramp go ahead and launch your boats and stage in the area shown below

Takeoff will be single file from the dock as I call your boat number idle by the dock with live wells open and we will toss you a boat float with your number on it

You only need to check in with us if you owe money or need to turn in forms or have a captain change or sub

We will be on the ramp at 545am

Takeoff positions will be posted here this afternoon

Update: May 30th tournement will now be at Patoka.
We are sure everyone is aware that the local river's are pretty well flooded. As of now we won't be able to have our tournament at Rocky Point due to high water levels. The IBFYS TD Indiana Bass Federation Youth/High School South is attempting to work with the IDNR to get a permit for another location. Stay tuned and watch for any Facebook posts or emails for any updates!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes 🇺🇸A massive thank you to all of our incredible student anglers and parents who came out early this morning!Together, we honored our nation's veterans by placing American flags on their graves. Watching our team step up to serve the community and remember those who sacrificed everything makes us incredibly proud.Thank you all for your hard work, respect, and dedication today. You represent our team beautifully both on and off the water!

This Saturday, May 23rd, we are trading our fishing rods for flags to honor our fallen heroes by placing flags on veterans' graves.
Our young anglers know what it means to dedicate themselves. Last season, the Mitchell Bass Team logged an incredible 530+ volunteer hours!
When our youth step up, they are:
Building character and real-world responsibility.
Gaining confidence to lead with purpose.
Strengthening the community we love.
Bass fishing teaches patience, but service teaches purpose. Let’s show up big and represent Mitchell with pride. See you Saturday!
