The Exchange Club of Missouri City

The Exchange Club of Missouri City Exchange, America's Service Club, is a group of citizens working together to make our communities better places to live.

Exchange, America's Service Club, is a group of citizens working together to make our communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities, and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse. Our major fund raiser is our famous (or infamous) St. Patrick's Day Golf Tournament, Dinner and Auction. This golfing event attracts teams tha

t contest for the handsome trophies and equally important the bragging rights as the best team to conquer the Quail Valley Golf course. This handicapped event attracts players of all skill levels and is complimented by an auction where quality and varied items can be bought by the highest bidder. To meet our pledged and discretionary charitable donations we plan for and consistently raise approximately $100,000 from this fund raiser. Covenant of Service
Accepting the divine privilege of single and collective responsibility as life’s noblest gift, I covenant with my fellow Exchangites:

To consecrate my best energies to the uplifting of Social, Religious, Political and Business ideals;
To discharge the debt I owe to those of high and low estate who have served and sacrificed that the heritage of American citizenship might be mine;
To honor and respect law, to serve my fellowmen, and to uphold the ideals and institutions of my Country;
To implant the life-giving, society-building spirit of Service and Comradeship in my social and business relationships;
To serve in Unity with those seeking better conditions, better understandings, and greater opportunities for all.

The Exchange Club of Missouri City held its April Luncheon on the 23rd at Quail Valley Golf Club, featuring some inspiring speakers and outstanding student recognition.

We were joined by Adrienne Barker from George Ranch, who shared the rich history of the ranch—from its founding in 1824 by Henry and Nancy Jones, members of “Austin’s Old 300,” to its present-day mission of offering immersive, educational experiences that give visitors a firsthand look at life on a working cattle ranch.

We also heard from James Patterson and Cathy Duvall with Achieve Fort Bend. Their organization is dedicated to helping struggling readers entering 2nd grade maintain or improve their reading skills over the summer. This year, their goal is to provide more than 20,000 books to 2,300 at-risk students—an incredible impact on our community.

Additionally, the Exchange Club recognized the Elkins Excel Students of the Month for March and April.

March’s Student of the Month is Alexander Nguyen, a graduating senior with an impressive list of accomplishments, including a 4.2 GPA, recognition as a National AP Scholar with Honors, and a 3-year letterman on the Elkins basketball team.

April’s Student of the Month is Laila Walls, also a graduating senior, known for her strong commitment to excellence in academics, athletics, and community service. Laila maintains a 3.6 GPA and has been recognized as a National AP Scholar.

Congratulations to both of these exceptional students—your futures are bright!

The Exchange Club of Missouri City teed up another great day at their annual Ryder Cup-style tournament on April 18 at Quail Valley Golf Club ⛳️

Golfers representing the two home courses—El Dorado and La Quinta—went head-to-head for ultimate bragging rights (and yes, those matter 😄). The format featured two 9-hole “4 ball” matches, plus a high-stakes 18-hole anchor match to top it all off.

This year’s team captains—Pete Mayock and Viki Moore for El Dorado, and Mike Simpson and Julia Hardy for La Quinta—led 30 two-person teams into a day full of friendly competition, great shots, and plenty of laughs.

When the final putt dropped, Team El Dorado took home the cup with an 18½ to 12½ victory! 🏆 The anchor match also delivered some excitement, with Kathryn Anderson and Sam Rubbico securing the win.

Beyond the competition, this group is all about community. Founded in 1985 by golfers who simply loved the game, the Exchange Club of Missouri City has spent the past 40 years giving back in a big way. From scholarships to local charities, they’ve raised millions—and just in 2025 alone, contributed over $120,000 to support youth and community programs.

Not bad for a group that started on the fairways 😉

This years District Crime Prevention Luncheon was hosted at Quail Valley Golf Club.

Our Past President, and current District President, Jake Kuharich, led the event and welcomed honorees and guests with a heartfelt message:

“Today is about appreciation. It’s a chance to slow down and simply say thank you — for the long hours, the tough calls, the sacrifices, and the countless acts of service that rarely make headlines but absolutely make a difference. We also recognize the families, departments, and support systems who stand behind these officers every day.”

We were honored to recognize Investigator Christopher Vargas of the Missouri City Police Department. He was introduced by Captain Tracy Cox, who highlighted his many accomplishments and dedicated service to the community.

Thank you to all who serve and protect — and to those who support them. 💙
