Goal:

Man to Man's goal is to help guide African American and other men, who are lost and/or have failed to achieve their purpose, recognize and achieve their full potential. We help men discover who they truly are and what they can become by guiding them into becoming productive, responsible citizens of their community through first becoming men of God. A Faith-based Organization:

Man to Man is a not-for-profit organization formed under the auspices of the parent entity Jacqueline Davis Ministries, a 501(c)3, faith-based organization. Man to Man was formed in the State of Texas, on Sept 11, 2015. In 2005, Jacqueline Davis Ministries was birthed as a women’s group whose mission was to impart wisdom and encourage women of the importance of making proper life choices. To restore and teach women who they are, why they are and how to develop a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It was also to reunite them with the Lord for those who walked away from the faith. The ministry’s purpose is to teach and train women through classes and instruction on how to become highly developed individuals and assist them in developing in the areas of relationships, motherhood, sisterhood, careers and how to reach out to others. The founder, Jacqueline Davis, secured 501(c)3 non-profit status in 2007. After obtaining this status, the objectives of the ministry expanded to include ministering the word of God to all. Through the years, J. Davis Ministries has been instrumental in providing assistance to those in need in the community. That assistance included: buying medication, paying rent and/or mortgage payments, paying electrical bills and helping financially with funeral assistance. Purpose:

The purpose of Man to Man is defined and summarized by its Mission and Vision Statements. Mission Statement:

To guide men into becoming productive, responsible citizens of the community by letting them know who they are before they destroy who they are about to become. Vision Statement

To effectively change the lives we encounter. Background:

The background and conditions of the black family are tragic and worsening. To state it succinctly, the black family is dying, more correctly, it’s being destroyed. America, has steadily shifted to the progressive left due to policy changes. It is easy to see American society with a reduced moral center due to this shift, which began in the mid-1960s. The consequences of these changes have had an adverse effect on the black family and black men in particular. Some of these manifestations are:

• Out-of-wedlock birth rate is 73%
• Fatherless homes children most likely grow up poor
• Most children of fatherless homes eventually engage in criminal behavior
• In 2010, blacks accounted for 48.7% of all arrests for homicide, 31.8% of arrests for forcible r**e, 33.5% of arrests for aggravated assault, and 55% of arrests for robbery.
• The black poverty rate is 27.4%, (3 times higher than whites)

The above has an even more catastrophic effect on black children:

• They are four times as likely to be abused or neglected
• Three times more have behavioral problems
• Unable to control violent or sexual impulses
• Twice as likely to conceive children out-of-wedlock as teens or young adults
• Three times likelier to be on welfare when they reach adulthood

Strategy:

Our strategy is simple, find men who are in trouble and desirous of changing their lives. When identified we introduce them to the Lord Jesus Christ, perform aptitude testing and design an individualized program for each person. Our plan is to train them to return and care for their families by becoming men strong in the Word of God and strong in their commitment to their families. Expectations:

The expectations of Man to Man are to establish high performance levels on metrics used to determine the success of each man. Some of those metrics are to lower high school and college dropout rates, decrease incarceration and drug dependencies, increase the number of men returning to the workforce and more. Support:

We seek logistical support, human resources, financial and other forms of support from individuals, other faith-based organizations, corporations, etc. to assist us in making this happen. Man to Man realizes that we are not able to do this alone and seek outside support on many levels. We also look to be synergistic with other entities so that we are all collectively focused on solving the same problem. Without this universal approach Man to Man believes the potential for the complete destruction of the black family and black men is a real potential. We cannot allow this to happen. Commitment:

Man to Man is committed to recover lost African American and other men and their families. Our primary focus is for the black man and family but by no means restricted to them. They are the initial primary targets due to their high risk position in our society. We are developing programs for those seeking a release from drugs, need more education, learning how to be a strong man, learn work ethic, and trying to find their life’s role. The problem of the black family is an American problem and requires a coordinated, focused effort to resolve it. Man to Man see ourselves on the front lines and are dedicated to do all we can with the help of whoever is willing. Sincerely,

Robert Davis
