This year was a testament to what we can accomplish when passion meets purpose. Together, we strengthened communities, uplifted families, empowered students, supported those in need, and demonstrated that compassion has no borders. To our Filipino American leaders, partner organizations, donors, volunteers, and supporters—you are the heartbeat of SLT. Thank you for believing in our vision and standing with us every step of the way.

We extend our deepest appreciation to our Board of Directors and Executive Officers for their exceptional leadership, dedication, and sacrifice. Your commitment, wisdom, resilience, and unwavering service made every milestone possible and positioned SamarLeyte Texas for even greater impact.

Samar-Leyte, Texas engages Consul General Gunther Sales in a dialogue.

The members of SamarLeyte Texas were honored with a first time audience with the newly appointed Philippine Consul General in Houston Texas, Mr. Gunther Sales on August 30, 2024. The meeting was held at the Philippine Consulate General Office at 9990 Richmond Ave, Suite 100N Houston, TX 77042.

The purpose of this meeting was to introduce SamarLeyte Texas which outlines its purpose and calling to help and support the Filipino people of Texas. In the course of the conversation, participants from SamarLeyte Texas gave brief details of the organization which aims at enhancing community services and introduced the organization’s projects and programs.

As for the SamarLeyte Texas event, Consul General Sales was very much encouraged by its success saying that we have to do more collaboration between the consulate and the organizations. They studied several possibilities of cooperation that would benefit the Filipino community in terms of cultural activities, education and community programs.

This symbolic gesture of courtesy visit marks the start of a preliminary negotiation between the two business entities, the SamarLeyte Texas, and the Philippine Consulate General Office which aims in creating a favorable environment.

SamarLeyte Texas looks forward to working closely with Consul General Gunther Sales and the consulate group to establish significant programs which meet the challenge of the community.
