Meet Our Practicum Students!
We're so grateful for our wonderful MSW practicum students joining our team this year. Each of them brings unique perspectives, skills, and heart to our work, and we're excited for everything they'll contribute to MIC and the community we serve!
Walter Rzegocki (left)
"I was born in Astoria, OR (yes, I am an actual Goonie!). I have lived in Missoula for almost 20 years. This is my 2nd year at the MIC and I like to think I do a little bit of everything, but my main area of focus is helping the Community of Belonging continue to grow in its mission and offerings. I found the MIC (or did it find me?) last year and was immediately drawn to its collaborative nature and the diversity of its comprehensive programs. Fun facts: I have 3 Golden Retrievers, I've been to the CSKT Bison Range over 300 times, and I enjoy building Lego — the largest set I've built so far is the 4,600+ piece Hogwarts Castle."
Eric Hall (center)
"I am Eric Hall. I was born in Spokane, Washington and went to Western Washington University to get my bachelor's degree in archaeology. For 22 years, I worked as an archaeological technician in 28 states around the country. Now in graduate school for social work, I chose Missoula Interfaith Collaborative (MIC) because of its commitment to helping people from all walks of life in finding housing and other resources and building of community. I believe the support and community are a vital essential part of the human experience and I feel at home here. I enjoy playing music on my keyboard/piano and I like to hike and enjoy outdoor activities as well."
John Montoya (right)
"My name is John. I was born in Wyoming and raised in both Mexico and Wyoming, embracing both cultures. I'm doing my practicum hours at the Missoula Interfaith Collaborative within the Housing Advocate Network program. I will support individuals and families facing homelessness or at risk of it by providing guidance and resources to address housing challenges in our community. My learning objectives focus on providing direct services to vulnerable populations, especially in housing stability and homelessness prevention. I enjoy long walks, working out, listening to music, archery, and spending time with family and friends."
