PSA to NPOS: Park Side Credit Union's 2024 Partner Program application is now open:
"Park Side Credit Union supports a multitude of causes, but each year we choose to work very closely with three non-profit organizations in both Missoula and the Flathead Valley. We select these official “Partners” with the help of a staff committee and offer each of them a significant donation, employee volunteer groups, cross-promotion, and shared advertising in order to increase their exposure in our communities. It is a great example of strategic philanthropy and the credit union difference. Our positive impact is compounded every year and we are creating an unparalleled network of cooperation. It’s unique, it’s progressive; it’s the Park Side Partner Program." - PSCU

Taxes can be daunting, especially for those new to the United States. But you can make a difference! The Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an IRS and Community-Sponsored program designed to assist low to moderate-income taxpayers with the preparation of their annual tax returns at no cost. The IRC in Missoula aims to provide newly arrived refugees and other community members with this free service! The IRC in Missoula is recruiting volunteers to serve as volunteer tax screeners, preparers, and quality reviewers.

There is no prior tax experience necessary to volunteer and IRS training is provided. This is a wonderful professional development opportunity for anyone wishing to gain tax certifications, free of charge!

Volunteers can serve a flexible schedule, offering between 3- 15 hours a week, with evening and weekend volunteering shifts available. Appointments will take place in-person at the IRC office in Missoula. Training will begin in December, with tax appointments taking place between January and April.

The Women’s Giving Circle of Missoula County (WGC) is pleased to invite non-profit organizations addressing women’s issues in our community to apply for this year’s $10,000 grant. Applications will be accepted from September 1 through October 10.

Applicants should clearly demonstrate how their programs, services, mission, etc. lift up women in Missoula County and embody the Circle’s core values of community, equity, and opportunity.

Three finalists will be chosen from the initial pool of applicants, and these organizations will each give a brief presentation to the Circle membership on November 9. The membership will vote to select the grant winner, which will be announced on December 15. Finalists that do not receive the $10,000 grant will each be gifted $1,000 in unrestricted funds for their work to support women in Missoula County.

The WGC is a program of the Missoula Community Foundation and has granted $60,000 to local non-profits since its inception in 2018.
