It's Wildfire Smoke Ready week, Missoula!

Now's the time to check the status of your HEPA air cleaners and replace old filters if needed. Or it's time to purchase / DIY an air cleaner if you don't already have one! Wildfire smoke particles can cause long term, negative health impacts and indoor air quality can be just as bad as outdoor, unless steps are taken to filter out the pollution. Learn more at MontanaWildfireSmoke.org.

We are THRILLED to see this project come to fruition! Congratulations, Home ReSource! We're grateful for the work you do to build a healthier, more sustainable community.

Home ReSource, a nonprofit in Missoula, just had huge solar panels installed to increase their mission to create a less wasteful city.

Did you know Missoula Public Library and Missoula Urban Demonstration Project (MUD) both have induction stove lending kits available to check out? Give them a try today!

Bay Area libraries are lending induction cooktops to help residents transition away from gas stoves, cut greenhouse gas emissions and improve indoor air quality.

Amazing visual recap of last week's data center panel discussion by High Mountain Creative 🙌

Data centers are a hot topic in most communities right now. In an effort to get myself at least a little bit educated on the issue, I sat in on this panel discussion at University of Montana. I learned that a lot of the "no data center" conversations aren't simply about protecting the environment. The conversations are about high power bills, blackouts on the power grid, having enough water for growing food, and community impact (like the 24/7 humming). Data centers really are a nonpartisan issue and the only ones that benefit from them are the tech and energy companies.

No matter how you slice it, data centers generally aren't ever going to benefit the environment or communities, but if we *must* have them, the companies building them need to be held accountable and provide transparency to the public to make make an effort to minimize their impacts.

I encourage y'all to find answers in your community and talk to local leaders about impacts of these projects.

Thank you to the smart, incredible panelists: Amy Cilimburg, Anne Hedges, and Barbara Chillcott

Thanks to everyone who braved a blustery spring Saturday last weekend during our Resilient Homes Tour!

We met with three fantastic hosts in the Target Range to learn about sustainable landscaping, wildfire preparedness and going electric. There are so many things we can do to make our homes more resilient, healthier and more comfortable -- all while being part of climate solutions. If you have any questions or interests in particular, comment here or DM us and we're happy to share resources!

Thank you to Missoula Electric Cooperative for sponsoring our event!
