Grant Creek Trail

Grant Creek Trail We have a trail! Construction began in 2014-15. There’s more to be done, but people are enjoying the 3 miles of paved - and plowed - trail every day.

We hope to extend trail connections both north and south. ‘Like' this page for trail updates.

Congratulations to the Butler Creek Trails Association and Missoula County Parks and Trails!

Take a stroll or ride along one of Missoula County's newest shared-use paths: the Butler Creek Trail! This quarter-mile trail was made possible through the hard work and dedication of the Butler Creek Trails Association, who led fundraising, design, and construction efforts for the project. Following completion, Missoula County Parks & Trails assumed ownership and ongoing maintenance of the trail.

The Butler Creek trail begins just north of the Gooden Lane and Butler Creek Road intersection, and extends north to Macarthur drive, helping connect neighborhoods and providing a safer off-street route to De Smet School.

We're excited to see this community-driven project improving safety and connectivity in the area. Next time you're in the area, stop by and check it out!

On April 22 at 9am, the Department of Transportation will be unlocking the gate to allow access to the cleaned-up former encampment under the Reserve Street Bridge. This area could one day become a public access area or park, but for now it’s fenced off and gated.

Bring work gloves if you want to do an Earth Day service project, but the heavy lifting has already been done.

See you there!
