Pop quiz! Do you know the difference between a food bank and a food pantry?

While folks often think of them as being the same, food banks and food pantries serve different purposes. A food pantry is an organization that provides food directly to community members experiencing hunger, while a food bank is a facility that stores large amounts of food for nearby food pantries and other organizations.

As a food bank, Montana Food Bank Network stores food that has been donated or bought in bulk at low prices. We deliver it to 330 hunger-relief organizations across Montana, who distribute it to local community members. If you're interested in learning more or supporting our work, visit mfbn.org.

Did you know that every $1 in SNAP benefits generates up to $1.80 in local spending? And that for every meal a food bank provides, SNAP provides 9 meals? 🀝
