Support Indigenous Culture and Community at WWW.Niitsitapii.com

Dear Friends and Allies,

I am Juanita, working alongside my mother Bernadine Tallman, to share the cultural wisdom and heritage of our Native community. We have created www.niitsitapii.com, an Indigenous-operated non-profit dedicated to the cultural enhancement of our people. Our mission is to provide a platform for Indigenous content, created by and for Indigenous people, to strengthen our community in the face of a colonial society.

Our Offerings
Custom Programming: Tailored cultural programs for all audiences.
Website Maintenance: Continuous updates and new content additions.
MMIP Page: A newly launched section focusing on Montana's Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons, with plans for further expansion.
How You Can Help
I am committed to volunteering my time to manage and expand this platform. However, as a student, my financial resources are limited. Your donations can make a significant difference, allowing me to continue this important work without bearing the costs out of pocket.

Get Involved
Donate: Any contribution helps sustain our efforts and supports the cultural revival of our community.
Volunteer: If you have information about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons, especially in Montana, your contributions can enrich our MMIP page.
Spread the Word: Share our mission and website with others who may be interested in supporting our cause.
Your support, whether through donations or volunteering, helps preserve our cultural heritage and provides a centralized space for Indigenous content. Let's work together to build a stronger, more connected community.

Sincerely,
Juanita

It was such a honor to provide Blackfoot Cultural programming, at Sentinel High School this past tuesday. I was able to bring my knowledge to students that will enhance their indigenous heritage.

If any other schools or organizations would like to have me provide any Blackfoot Cultural programs I'm happy to work with you.

We at Niitsitapii would like to send good energy to our Big Camp. This is an important time of the year for the Blood Tribe. We are camped and participating because that's what being Siksikatsitapi is all about. May you all have a good day.

Katoyiss - Sweetpine Hills

It's my favorite place in the world. Just looking at these volcanic intrusions makes me feel so proud that I know my roots.

These hills have been formed millions of years ago. This process began with Magma flowing through cracks in the crust of the earth. The Milk River Ridge is the fault or Crack that contributed to the formation of these magnificent landmarks.

Through this fault the magma makes its way to the surface, but doesn't actually break through. It stops, then hardens. Then millions of years pass until the erosion begins uncovering this igneous rock. Twenty thousand years of erosion working so we can see them tower over us today. Nature is amazing.

Today the hills are called the Sweetgrass Hills, and are incorrectly named by western society. This was the case in those days when almost everything was mistranslated. They are properly named Katoyiss or in English its Sweetpine Hills.

This literally means "Blood Clot" which comes from our history of Katoyiss. If you would like to learn about this beautiful place, I would definitely love to tell the story to everyone through online or in-person mentoring.

You can inquire at www.niitsitapii.com for appointments.

If you would like to volunteer your time to contribute to Blackfoot Educational Programs through Niitsitapii we would love for you to join our membership.

Good morning everyone.
Please support Indigenous non-profits.

Tell your bosses to donate to Indigenous Organizations like Niitsitapii. I've been building Niitsitapii since the pandemic started. I've used my own resources because I believe our kids need people to teach. I need donations to cover costs like software, basic office and storage supplies. Travel to Blackfoot Country is necessary for Niitsitapii to gain resources. We can't do this work without donations. Please help us build and provide support through volunteer Indigenous educators, resources, and mentoring necessary to connect our people to Blackfoot Country.

Please donate at our website

Niitsitapii would like to wish everyone awesome holidays.

Its the 2021 Winter Solstice, which is the shortest day of the year. We begin our way back to our big camp. Tonight is also a meteor shower.

Today at 2pm MST. Lets all take the time for meditation and reflection. Send good energy to lift us to higher levels.

Let's remember our ancestors and do right by learning who we are!

Be BRAVE.
