The visit of our Engineers Without Borders team to the community of Santa Teresita in Ecuador has exceeded any of our expectations. The appreciation, support and care that these beautiful people have given us was exceptional.

Many thanks dear friends of Santa Teresita. Each of the moments we shared with you working in the field, playing soccer or frisby, or helping in the kitchen were very special. We reaffirm our commitment with this beautiful community. Our chapter will be back to achieve the goal of supplying water to Santa Teresita.

Recently, our Mississippi State EWB team had the opportunity to travel down to Chillanes Canton, Ecuador to meet the Santa Teresita community for the first time.

During this trip, the team was able to collaborate with community stakeholders, such as Moises Nina, president of the Community Water Board, and Rachel Conrad, our non-governmental organization contact who works to provide water rights to local farmers in the area's watershed.

Through our team's time in Ecuador, they were able to assess the existing conditions of the current water distribution system, collect water quality and surveying data for future design purposes, establish a partnership with the municipal government, and obtain a better understanding of the socioeconomic perspective of the Santa Teresita community.
