Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything to protect them.

From all of us at the Professional Arborist Association of Mississippi, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families.

May we remember them not only today, but always. 🇺🇸

Trees often die years following construction due to stress from soil compaction, mechanical damage, pollutants, or other stressors. Learn how to prevent that with this pamphlet from the Mississippi State University Extension Service that will teach you how to protect your trees when you have construction around a tree. Earlier this week, PAAM hosted a Chainsaw Safety Workshop in Starkville, MS. Workshop participants learned about safety in the classroom before moving out to the John Starr Memorial Forest to see felling techniques in person, with a couple of individuals felling trees under the supervision of our workshop instructor, Tim Chennault.

If you're interested in attending a Chainsaw Safety Workshop in the future or have other suggested professional development opportunities that you think would be beneficial for PAAM to host in the future, please feel free to comment below or send us a message via Facebook or Gmail.

Many thanks to Mississippi Forestry Commission Urban and Community Forestry for sponsoring this event, Starkville Utilities for providing us with classroom space, and MSU Forest Operations for providing some trees to fell for educational purposes!
