Thank you to Laura Smith, City Administrator for the City of Mission for being the featured speaker at the Shawnee Mission Rotary Club noon meeting on June 10, 2026. Laura shared an informative and detailed update on the many exciting projects happening throughout Mission, including new apartment developments, Streamway trail improvements, park updates, and the new Martway waterway project.

She also highlighted several new businesses coming to Mission, along with the continued success and growth of existing businesses in the community. It was a very interesting presentation, and it was great to welcome Laura back, who is also a former Shawnee Mission Rotary Club member, originally invited by Emily Randel.

Thank you to Ed McConnell for his outstanding presentation on Shriners Hospitals for Children at our May 13 Shawnee Mission Rotary Club meeting. It was inspiring to learn more about the incredible impact the organization has on children and families through the dedication of its doctors, nurses, staff, and volunteers. Their compassion and commitment truly change lives every day.
