Mission is a walkable city with an eclectic mix of convenient recreation facilities, 8 neighborhood parks, bike paths and trails. Community Center in Northeast Johnson County. The Department holds sports programs and community events at various park locations, and in addition to the Mission Family Aquatic Center, the Powell Community Center boasts fitness classes for all ages, personal trainers, strength & cardio equipment, 2 racquetball courts, 2 gyms, and community use space.

Our Story

Mission Parks & Recreation in Mission, Kansas is located in Northeast Johnson County, KS. We have 27.25 acres of park lands and 4.2 miles of trails. We also boast an 80K sq ft community center- Sylvester Powell Jr. Community Center. We have an outdoor Aquatic Center (MFAC) as well as general programs/events, fitness classes for all ages, personal training, and first class room rentals.
