Good news! SUN Bucks, or summer EBT, is available this year in Missouri and Kansas! ☀

This program provides a one-time $120 benefit per child (age 7-17) for parents to put towards groceries this summer.

Children may be automatically eligible if they:
- already participate in SNAP or Temporary Assistance
- have active Medicaid
- are in foster care, homeless or a migrant
- are enrolled in school and approved for free/reduced lunch

Thousands of people pass by our little corner at Metcalf and Shawnee Mission Pkwy everyday. Have you driven past us and wondered what goes on here?

Well, here’s a sneak peek of what we were up to this afternoon.

On the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month, we help feed nearly 200 families with nourishment and misc supplies to those in need in our community.

Donate: Your contributions, whether financial or in-kind, nourish needy families. Every donation counts and helps reduce the impact of hunger on your neighbors.

Volunteer: Volunteers are the heart and soul of food banks. By donating your time, you become part of a powerful team that makes a difference daily. Whether sorting food, packing boxes, or organizing fundraising events, your efforts will help alleviate hunger and support your community.

Spread the Word: Sometimes, people don’t realize how many individuals and families in their community struggle with food insecurity. Raising awareness about the issue and supporting food banks, you help inspire others to take action and contribute to the cause

Together we can collaborate to help expand food access for our community.

Thank you to all the food pantry partners who joined us for our second food pantry networking event, hosted by the Johnson County Food Policy Council. Together, we strengthened connections, shared experiences and explored policies that could help expand food access for our community. Over the coming months, we’ll be researching these ideas and look forward to bringing everyone back together in the fall to continue the work.

Another successful Distribution Day at the Pantry. . . This time we had some help from some amazing superhero volunteers honoring all those real life superheroes who help so many people in our community.
