First and foremost, thank you so much to everyone who drops off donations for our shelter. Your generosity truly keeps us going and warms our hearts every single day!

We want to share a gentle reminder to help us protect the privacy and comfort of the wonderful people staying with us. For our guests, this shelter isn't just a building; it’s their home. Just like any of us would feel a bit startled if someone walked into our living space unannounced, our guests value their peace and privacy just the same.

To make sure we can welcome you properly and keep our shelter a peaceful sanctuary, please follow these quick steps when visiting:

📍 Where to go: Please visit to our main entrance on 9th Street.

🔔 What to do: Just ring the doorbell!

🤝 Our staff or director will be right there to happily greet you, accept your donations, or answer any questions you may have.

✨A huge thank you to Barry’s Carpentry out of Farmington Hills for stopping by after their workday to surprise us with an upgrade! 🙏They built us an access door for our can drop-off house, making managing our can donations easier for our guests and volunteers. Thank you for taking the time to serve a community outside your own and for being the hands and feet of Jesus!✨

We have an exciting success story to share! One of our guests moved into her own apartment this past weekend. Her journey at Lydia's Gate has been one of transformation; along with finding a place to call her own, she worked non-stop to secure a vehicle and financial independence!

Lydia’s Gate is different because we focus on the "why" behind the struggle. We provide a Christ-centered environment that empowers guests to trade survival mode for long-term stability. At Lydia’s Gate, we believe true success begins with how you see yourself. We don’t cater to the "victim" mentality; instead, we focus on our guests' strengths, refusing to let them become slaves to their past circumstances. We are so proud of this woman’s hard work and honored to have been part of her story!

Our faces when we saw the snow this morning: 👁️👄👁️

If you saw us staring out the window with our jaws on the floor this morning... no you didn't. 🤣We’re just as confused as everyone else! While we’ve officially given up on trusting the "No more snow" rumors, we are 100% certain about tomorrow.

Snow or shine, our Lydia's Gate Spring Awakening Auction is ON and it’s going to be a total blowout! We clearly can’t predict the weather, but we can predict that you will have a good time!
