The Lions Club will be hosting a Senior Fishing Day on Friday, August 28th, from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. at the handicapped fishing dock on Pond Dr. Lunch is provided and there will be pontoon rides.

We are accepting applications for a Part to Full time In Home worker. Qualified individuals must pass background check and must have own reliable transportation. Duties include but not limited to housekeeping, shopping, and assist with showers. $13.73 to start, with drive time and mileage paid. Please inquire in person at the Center.

The Senior Center will host a Footcare Clinic on Monday July 27th. The cost is $25.00. Please call 989-826-3025 to schedule an appointment or if you have any questions.

MDHHS has Fiscal Year 2026 Emergency Services funds available in Alpena, Montmorency, Iosco, Alcona, Otsego, Crawford, and Oscoda counties (we have some funds available in Ogemaw & Roscommon too) that can assist with a portable or window AC unit. All the client needs to do is call Client Connect 844-464-3447, Monday-Friday 9AM-3PM to make the request. No application is required.
****If the client is under 55 they would need a doctor note stating it is medically necessary.

Today 6/30 and tomorrow 7/1 the center will be open until 8:00 pm as a cooling center. A/C will be on for anyone needing to get out of this heat. Please remember to drink plenty of fluids.
