The "Energy as an Economic Driver" IVLP program finished off with a visit to Tioga, North Dakota, in the heart of the Bakken. Kathy Neset of Neset Consulting and Mike Bast of Chevron explained the Bakken Oil Formation in terms of North Dakota oil development before taking the visitors for an excursion into the "oil patch."

Molly Paszek, Project Director of Minot State University's Aspire Program, introduced the concept to six Palestinian educators in April as they replicated the immersive one-day experience of high school students in the program. The Aspire Program provides a dual credit course (college credit for high school juniors and seniors) in special education. The program also has a peer mentoring program. The overall goal of Aspire is to expose students to the joy of teaching and introduce evidence-based teaching strategies they can use as future teachers. Aspire also explores the numerous pathways to becoming a special education teacher in North Dakota.

In April, GlobalND was proud to host six Palestinian educators studying "Secondary Education Administration." During their program they had the opportunity to visit the Minot Area Workforce Academy to learn about technical and career development for high school students and tour the facilities at Minot North High School.
