💙 We're still feeling inspired by the conversations and connections that came out of last week's Region 2 Think Tank! Thank you to everyone who came to represent their community and ensure many different perspectives were part of the conversation.

Think Tank participants spoke honestly about the challenges facing their communities, including housing shortages, workforce needs, funding barriers, and the difficulty of creating change when momentum is hard to sustain. They also shared success stories, lessons learned, and practical ideas to overcome those challenges.

🤝 One theme came up again and again: communities thrive and grow when people work together. Attendees discussed the best ways to share resources and ideas, and how to create more opportunities for collaboration so no community has to solve these challenges alone.

🎨 A special thank you to ART BY MAX, who spent the day observing the conversations and themes at the event. We're excited to see the custom artwork that will capture the vision and ideas shared by communities in ND Region 2. With funding from the Mountrail County JDA, Schmidt turned her idea into a meaningful initiative that is now expanding access to books, encouraging positive behavior, and helping children build stronger literacy skills and academic confidence.

We’re excited to share that the first round of applicants has been accepted, and we’ve welcomed an active and dedicated group of residents to share ideas and collaborate to make our communities stronger!

We believe progress starts with the residents who know their towns best. This one-day facilitated gathering is not only for individuals with titles or elected positions, it’s for any engaged community members looking to make a difference. Hosted by Souris Basin Planning Council in partnership with NDSU Extension, this initiative will equip participants with practical strategies for driving local progress through collaboration and shared learning.

🎨 A local artist will attend to capture the themes, aspirations, and insights that come up throughout the day's sessions to create a custom art piece.
