From the staff and board of the Men's Winter Refuge, we extend a HUGE thanks to everyone who helped make our 5th annual Refuge Ride a success!! πŸ™β€πŸ™β€ Thank you to the New Horizon and Green Knights motorcycle clubs for organizing the ride and pulling it off despite the 100-degree temps .... you bikers are incredible people!! Also thank you to Marketplace Foods, Cash Wise and Pepsi for donating the food and drinks, to all of the local businesses who donated items for door prizes, and especially all of those who attended to support our men's homeless shelter!! We can't wait to see you again next summer at the 6th annual !! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

This Sunday!! The 5th annual Refuge Ride will be held this Sunday, July 12.

The annual fundraiser for Minot’s men’s homeless shelter will begin at 11 am at 101 Main Street, in front of the Drop Zone Bar.

The event features a motorcycle dice run jointly sponsored by the Green Knights and New Horizon motorcycle clubs. Riders from all area clubs are invited to participate, as well as independent riders. The bikes will depart at 1 pm from the Drop Zone with stops in Burlington (Idle Hour), Foxholm (Hunter's Den), Carpio (Z Bar), Mohall (Drinks 4.0) and Ruthville (Pink's), and finishing at the New Horizon clubhouse directly behind Job Service in north Minot. Prize baskets will be given to the top 3 dice scores on the ride. πŸ†πŸ…

The fun on Main Street will include Dakota Cruisers classic cars, food and drinks, inflatables for kids, music, great door prizes and more from 11 am to 3 pm. Come join us on Sunday and enjoy one (or three) of Chef James' world famous street tacos!

April wrapped up another amazing season for volunteers at the Men's Winter Refuge. Pictured are some of the remarkable folks who participated in our Meal Train in April to provide meals for the residents of our men's homeless shelter. Thank you all so much .... the success stories of our shelter residents are also your success stories! Can't wait to see you all again (along with many new volunteers) in November!! πŸ™β€πŸ™β€

Did you know the Men's Winter Refuge transports more than 700 passengers each year to a local food pantry? We utilize our bus and volunteer drivers every Wednesday -- year-round -- to take folks to the Lord's Cupboard food pantry. Pick-up spots are Milton Young Tower and Henry Tower, and anyone is welcome to meet our bus at either spot for a free ride to and from the pantry. Each year for the past 8 years we have taken between 700 and 950 passengers to the pantry! Thank you so much to all of our incredibly generous donors for making this and all of our vital services possible!! β€πŸ™β€πŸ™β€πŸ™

Did you know the Men's Winter Refuge provides assistance to more than 1,500 individuals in need every year? In addition to our men's homeless shelter, we provide homeless prevention services such as free rides to a local food pantry, free men's clothing, and when funding is available we help with transportation assistance such as city bus passes and help with bus/train tickets for folks seeking help in another city. Thank you so much to all of our incredibly generous donors for making all of these services possible!! β€πŸ™β€πŸ™β€πŸ™
