Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch The Ranch provides trauma-informed care to children through Residential Treatment Facilities and Outpatient Psychological Services.

Each day, Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch serves children, ages 10-18, in residential care and shelter care on our Minot, Bismarck, and Fargo campuses. In addition, Dakota Memorial School provides a quality education for children who have special learning needs because of psychiatric, behavioral and trauma issues.These children experience severe emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges and c

ome from diverse backgrounds, cultures and religions. They are working through their issues, which may include conduct disorder, autism spectrum disorders, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, chemical dependency, sexual offenses; and issues related to trauma, abuse and neglect.

Art students at Dakota Memorial School studied Batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique used most famously in Java, Indonesia.

Students designed and dyed their own pillowcases by doing a wax-resist with glue, then dying the fabric with watered-down paint. —
