Our club is so lucky to recognize not just one, but two Minooka Community High School District #111 Student(s) of the Month for September!

We’d like to congratulate Aspen and Brooke D who were both nominated by their tennis coach, Mr. Munson. Both of these young ladies are student athletes, who both plan to become nurses, just like their mom.

Honoring students each month is one our club’s favorite things to be a part of. What a great way for us to kick off this year by recognizing twins! That’s a first for us and it was double the fun! Congratulations ladies!

Rotary Club and Interact Club joined forces at the The Village Christian Church to pack food for the backpack program. The Rotary Club of Channahon-Minooka is proud to be a sponsor for this event.

Members from Channahon Park District and Channahon District 17 were also there helping, demonstrating that many hands make light work. What a great group of people coming together for a great cause.
We are thankful for all of you.

We had CEO Molly Mannix Babyak of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties join us as a guest speaker at our club assembly.

Big Brothers Big Sisters has been around for more than 120 years and their mission is to create one to one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and the promise of youth. BBBS of Will and Grundy Counties was founded in 1970.

It was great to hear how the program works, how mentors are assigned, the time commitment involved, and how the Bigs mentorship impacts the Littles. Thank you for joining and presenting to our group Molly.

Rotarians had a wonderful time attending the Minooka Community High School District #111 Central Campus Career & Technical Education Center ribbon cutting and grand opening.

One of our very own, Superintendent Dr. Rob Schiffbauer gave insight to the amount of work that went into making this happen for students and staff.

The CTE addition includes a Culinary Arts Lab, Construction/Wood-shop Lab, Metal Shop Lab, Welding Lab, Engineering Lab, Automotive Lab, Robotics Lab, and an Art Room/Floral Design Lab.

With that being said, let’s just agree that the CTE center is IMPRESSIVE and it’s a must see! Nicely done MCHS!

MCHS Interact Club has many wonderful service projects planned for the year. Their first service project was coloring drawings for ‘Color a Smile’: a nonprofit organization spreading smiles with cheerful drawings. These drawings are then sent to senior citizens, our troops overseas, or anyone who may need a smile to brighten their day.

The students are doing amazing things locally and and globally. Our club is so proud to support them in their efforts.

Had a wonderful time supporting fellow Rotarian and Superintendent Dr. Robert Schiffbauer this past weekend at
Minooka Community High School District #111 South Campus Field House ribbon cutting. They had a great turnout to share their brand new 90,000 square foot facility and it’s gorgeous!

Every detail was meticulously thought out: the same track flooring that was used in the Paris Olympics, the basketball courts, a huge video screen, an incredible weight room, and an impressive Championship Hall.

Such an amazing space for all of the student athletes who will get to train, compete, grow, and create memories for years to come in this state of the art facility.

Well done, MCHS!
