If you love to sing in the shower and are looking for a place to sing with your clothes on, there's a spot for you in the ONE WORLD COMMUNITY CHOIR. You'll learn a crazy mix of beautiful multi-part songs from all over the world: Scottish ballads, funky songs from Africa, hypnotic chants from India, and the best of American roots and popular music. Our motto is: If we love it, we'll sing it. But we
're more than just a choir. We're a community of folks who love to sing, laugh, and hang out together, and we'll jump at almost any excuse for a potluck. While the atmosphere at our gatherings is welcoming and relaxed, we work hard and are always learning new songs, so you'll never be bored. Everybody cares about the music, and nobody cares if you mess up. We look forward to singing with you! The choir is led by Betsy Sansby and Al Dworsky, who conduct it with the same dramatic imperfection that they bring to their marriage. Betsy was trained at the Community Choir Leadership Program in Victoria, Canada. She is the producer and primary performer on the Teaching CDs for Community Choir Leaders series. Al is a classically trained piano player and former rock musician who accompanies the choir on piano or drum. In Minnesota, the choir meets on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Luke Church, 3121 Groveland School Road, in Minnetonka, 55391. Betsy and Al conduct the choir in Minnesota from May through October and then relocate to Los Angeles for the winter. While they're gone, the choir in Minnesota is conducted by Jeenee Lee, previously an assistant director of the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir and a current member of the VocalEssence Chorus. In Los Angeles, the choir meets from November through April on Saturday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at 3856 Boyce Ave in Atwater Village, 90039. The cost for a 10-week session is $89. You can also join in the middle of a session and we'll prorate your fee for however many classes are left.
