We recently got photos of three alums and their rescue sister. Beau (fka Ellis, HH class of 2015) and his brother Ethan (nka Titan, HH class of 2015) are on the left (don't ask which is which, we never could tell them apart!), and the girls, Mazzy (fka Fawn, class of 2012--the one in yellow fur) and Roo are on the right. All are doing very well and try their best to keep their parents out of trouble.

Their mom has agreed again to make our Homecoming Auction basket that we raffle off to all those who make a $100 or more donation to our auction. You will be able to enter that raffle drawing when our auction opens on Nov. 13 or, if you send in a check by mail for the homecoming auction, you will also be entered in the drawing. We anticipate the auction website will be auctria.events/hhauction2026 if you want to make note of it on Nov. 13 in your calendar! The winner will be announced at the close of the auction on Nov. 22. The basket is always a masterpiece and a chance to win it is well worth the $100 donation! Pictures will be forthcoming when available in October.

Maleficent (nka Peggy, HH class of 2021) recently moved with her family to Minnesota. She loves exploring her new territory, especially the ten acre fenced dog park with trails. We will see what she thinks about a real winter in a few months! Congrats, Peggy--your family is proof that you needn't give up your pet just because you move!!

Say Hello to Shadow!
She was found wandering the streets of Miami, but today, Shadow is showing everyone just how special she really is. 🐾
This sweet girl loves her people, enjoys being close, and is learning to face the world with confidence. She’s smart, affectionate, playful, and doing beautifully with positive encouragement.

Believe it or not, we are already gathering items for our auction in November. One of the items we hope to be able to offer again is a graphite pet portrait by Linda Metzger. She is currently drawing Mama Linda's dog Cesar. The first photo is the AI generated photo, and the second is the work in progress photo of her drawing of him. I think you will agree that she does stunning work!

Mark your calendars for the auction which is expected to open on November 13 and close on November 22. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so we hope everyone will participate! Traveling with Ro....

BREAKING NEWS: Apparently my humans had to go somewhere that was “not dog friendly.” Excuse me? If I can’t go, is it even worth going?

Their excuse? “You can’t come this time.”

Pretty bold statement from people who usually can’t find their keys without my supervision.

The good news? I got to stay with my favorite friends, who understand the proper way to treat a distinguished traveling dog: unlimited ear scratches, constant attention, and a treat budget that should really be tax deductible.

Then… betrayal.

The kids announced it was bath time.

I tried explaining that my rugged road-trip aroma is called Eau de Adventure. They were not convinced.

Next thing I know, I’m getting hosed down while the kids are laughing, splashing, and somehow getting just as wet as I was. Honestly, I think they were having more fun than I was.

I’ll admit… all the attention was pretty great.

But for future reference, could we maybe skip the whole “spray me with water” part and just go straight to the pets, belly rubs, and admiration? I feel like that’s a reasonable compromise.

And let’s discuss the treat situation.

There were treats before the bath.

Treats during the bath.

Treats after the bath.

Still not enough.

I’m pretty sure surviving a garden hose qualifies for hazard pay.

⭐️ Rating: 8/10. Excellent staff. Outstanding kid entertainment. Too much water. Needs approximately 437% more treats.
