Formerly the, "Twin Cities GLBT and Allied social events and adventures group," by the name of Lake Calhoun Boys. In solidarity with our community members, this group's name has been updated to condemn slavery, and the use of white fixtures in history. After all, our Pride stems from the protests by b
lack trans members of our community. The LCB organization is no longer hosting or planning events, however events and activities put on by other groups, organizations, and businesses will receive endorsement by the LCB on this page. It has been a great honor to serve the LGBTQ+ and Allied community with innovative and exciting events from 2008-2011. When Ryan Adams started this group on Facebook as a means coordinating hanging out at Lake Calhoun with friends, it was never imagined the gap in the gay scene this group would fill for three years. The LCB has impacted hundreds of lives in the Twin Cities and elsewhere. Many individuals met new friends, mates, found new jobs, got back into school, got married to their mate, came out and some found the LCB as a means of transitioning to the Minneapolis community. The reasons for dissolving of the events and planning truly lie in the success of the organization with the aforementioned individual successes and the attendance at events dwindling, as well as the lack of new life in the leadership area of the group. The Lake Calhoun Boys will be legendary for the great things they have done in the community, in particularly the MN AIDS Walk where over $60k was raised in three years and many new walkers and donors generated for the cause. This page will continue to serve as an active means of communicating local events, national news and other miscellaneous posts for some time to come. Thank you to everyone who made this organization an incredible success, it could never have been without YOU.
