612 Fastpitch Minneapolis Not counting state qualifiers and state tournaments weekend, teams play 3 weekend tournaments which are generally out of town.

612 Fastpitch provides athletes from Minneapolis fastpitch softball opportunities that match their skill level in a safe and organized environment while teaching sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and love of the game About Community-Based Spring/Summer Travel Softball For New Families

For those new to community-based travel softball it is important to note the commitment requirement for players

and families is more intense than city sponsored recreation leagues. Once the season is underway expect to play twice per week plus at least one practice at game in and around the metro, generally no farther than 90 minutes away. Some may require an overnight stay. Your coaches and teammates depend on a near 100% commitment to make every game and practice. The season runs from May-Mid July and many families plan summer vacations so they do not conflict with the softball schedule. The Club and coaches will make a concerted effort to give you as much lead time as possible regarding tournament and game dates. While this might sound stern, the intent is not to discourage your participation. Rather, we want to set the proper expectations for all families. Occasionally there are conflicts which cannot be avoided. Your responsibility is to be proactive with the coaching staff and team manager to work through issues as they arise.

For moments exactly like this.

Tonight’s JV game between Washburn and Southwest could’ve easily been a cancellation story. Instead? It became a softball community story.

A few Washburn players — including 612 players Loretta S and Lainey U — lined up with Southwest so they’d have enough players to field a team. It worked seamlessly because Southwest coaches Jess and Dean are also 612 parents/coaches familiar with the skills of each player.

Different jerseys. Same softball family.

In a world that loves a rivalry… fastpitch keeps proving community wins.
