Somali Student Association - UMN SSA at the UMN was established to promote Somali cultural awareness as well as to create a venue where Somali students can interact and network at the UMN.

The Somali Student Association at the University of Minnesota was established to create a venue where Somali students, intellectuals, and the campus community can interact and learn from one another. We exist to organize and promote cultural awareness and present our rich cultural heritage to the diverse University Community through various educational activities and events. Our events and program

s are intended in educating the campus community of various aspects of the Somali culture. Our events are also intended to encourage Somali students here at the University of Minnesota to feel more connected to their campus both academically and socially. All individuals are encouraged to attend our events and further take part in our programs. We are committed to student engagement at this University. We are a cultural organization at this University and we provide numerous opportunities for students and faculty to learn more about Somalia's rich heritage and culture.
