Shruthi Rajasekar is a tour-de-force composer from Minnesota. Her compositions are nothing short of brilliant, beautiful and inspirational. We had the privilege of working with her for a full feature concert of her works at our East Meets West Series earlier this concert season, featuring a wide range of South Indian Classical style in a Western setting.

We are lucky to be able to perform her solo bass work "Glimmer" for our At Dusk program, just right around the corner! Glimmer is the possibility revealed in a sliver of light. Drawing from the rich Carnatic raga Kalyani, this piece is the experience of glimpsing infinity within even the smallest of movements. Commissioned by the Royal Academy of Music (London, UK), from a collection of 200 solo pieces written to celebrate the bicentenary of the Royal Academy of Music in 2022.
