Hi dancers! We have *almost* all of our venues for North Star Blues 2026 booked, but we're looking for some help finding a Sunday afternoon venue.

Ideally, we're looking for a venue with an indoor and outdoor space that we can rent for 4 hours from about noon to 4 pm on Sunday, September 20th, 2026.

For the outdoor space, we'd love somewhere green and grassy where we can spread out blankets and enjoy the weather (if it's nice outside). For the indoor space, we're looking for somewhere that we can play DJed music (we can bring a speaker system) and that has a reasonably smooth floor area that can be used for dancing, and that can fit about 80 people.

Ideally, the venue would have coffee, tea, and food available for purchase by individual attendees. The spaces don't need to be exclusive for us, as long as 80 people showing up won't overwhelm the venue and we can DJ music. Our budget for the venue rental is about $1000. Any ideas for us?

Alrighty, friends! We are somehow only NINE DAYS AWAY from North Star 2025! If you've been riding the fence, now is the time to get that registration in. I'll single out any new dancers for a second - if you're not sure you're ready for a blues dancing weekend, I encourage you to just register. North Star is a great event for newcomers, and has been a 1st dance event for many people. The stakes are low; the energy is great. You can dive in fully to each part, or you can just dip your toes. We're all happy to welcome you!

Let's get those registrations in. And, remind your friends that we will also offer a la carte options for anyone who can only make it to select pieces of the weekend. (But pro tip, you might find it's less expensive to just go ahead and grab a full pass)
