Our Grassland Monitoring Technicians traveled across the region all summer surveying grassland plants. Their work is contributing to a long-term dataset that shows how grasslands are responding to conservation efforts, like prescribed fire and cattle grazing. The data so far is clear—these interventions help keep invasive species at bay and allow native habitats to thrive.

We’re working to improve resilience on 2 million acres of Minnesota forest. From collecting seeds and planting trees, to conducting controlled burns and protecting remaining forest, we're restoring forests with an eye to the future. It’s an ambitious target, but critical for storing carbon, keeping water clean and providing habitat for wildlife.

We are working to plant trees, prevent wildfires and build resilience in Minnesota’s precious forests.
