Courageous heARTS is a nonprofit art studio located in the heart of south Minneapolis founded in 2013 by professional youth worker Lindsay Walz. Our mission is to illuminate youth as leaders while inspiring creativity, courage, and collaboration throughout the whole community. heARTS originated from three beliefs that serve as the foundation of our work:


  • Youth have a right to participate in and make decisions about the spaces they occupy

  • Art is transformative and has the power to support individual and collective healing

  • Connection and belonging is essential to individual well-being
