Gentle nudge...if you're hoping to complete your ADEC Certification, the deadline to apply is August 15th!

: Are you pursuing an ADEC Certification this year or due to renew your certification in 2027?

New credential applications for the Certified in Thanatology (CT) and Fellow in Thanatology (FT) designations are now open through to August 15th, 2026. This is a firm deadline.
=>> NOTE: The certification exam will be administered remotely (online):
Opens: Friday, October 16th, 2026, at 9am EST
Closes: Saturday, October 17the, 2026, at 9am EST

Re-Certification applicants with an expiration date of December 31st, 2026 can apply between September 14th and December 31st, 2026.

CT and FT Certifications are recognized around the world and serve as evidence of specialized training and professional experience in the field of Thanatology, which may include clinical grief work, scholarly research linked to grief and loss, end-of-life and bereavement care, and/or grief focused educator roles in various settings.
Thanatologists credentialed by ADEC must pass a stringent, standardized certification exam.

The final seventy-two hours of life often involve shifts in cognition, communication, and awareness that leave clinicians with limited tools for meaningful engagement. This webinar introduces Meditative Heartbeat Therapy (MHbT), an integrative approach that uses rhythm, presence, and attunement to support patients and families when language begins to fade. The webinar will explore the phenomenology of the dying process, introduce core principles and practical applications of MHbT within interdisciplinary care, as well as review practical ways to remain connected at the bedside. Live demonstration using a clinical simulation model will provide a clear and accessible introduction to MHbT in practice.

This book, written by grief informed Certified Child Life Specialist/CCLS Jessica Correnti, is the third in her series that creatively uses the alphabet to explore the difficult and messy challenges of coping with loss. This book provides several practical coping skills and grief activities that correspond to each letter of the alphabet. Correnti gives readers and helpers opportunities to discuss the many ways we can cope with and navigate our grief.
Each book in this series help kids to process their grief through simple, relatable, child-friendly language and charming imagery.

: ADEC wishes a warm to everyone observing this sacred month of compassion, Islamic prayer, generosity, community and connection as well as fasting, reflection and genuine forgiveness. This central Muslim tradition both begins and ends with the appearance of the crescent moon.
This year, Ramadan also overlaps with the Lunar New Year (Year of the Fire Horse in Chinese Astrology, celebrated across Asia) as well as a solar eclipse and Ash Wednesday/Lent.
