Teamsters Local 792 was proud to host another successful Stewards Seminar on Saturday.

As Principal Officer Kris Knight always says, stewards are our first line of defense in protecting the hard fought language we’ve won in our contracts.

We’re grateful for the work our stewards do every day, and for agreeing to spend a Saturday strengthening their skills and learning from our excellent presenters.

Topics covered included:

• Steward rights and effective representation.
• Writing strong grievances.
• Internal organizing strategies and building solidarity.
• Connecting members with the Teamsters Service Bureau.
• How and when to advise members to contact a workers compensation attorney.
• Understanding the value of a good QRC.

A big thank you to the Joint Council 32 political team for sharing insight into the work they do at the State Legislature to strengthen Labor, and protect our members jobs.

Strong stewards make strong contracts, and strong contracts make strong Teamsters!

• Academic awards: $1,000 – $10,000 (4‑year college/university)

Congratulations to our members at Kuerig Dr. Pepper who ratified a new three year contract this morning!

Highlights include.
•Raises from 11%-15% in every department.
•5th week of vacation added for long time employees
•New protective language for merchandisers, and increased compensation for mileage.
•Huge improvements in healthcare coverage by moving to the Joint Council 32 health and welfare fund.

Recent events roundup!

This fall Local 792 negotiated and ratified two excellent contracts with McDonald distributing, and Capitol Beverage. They both won great wage increases, improved language, and no concessions by the members!

In the last few weeks we’ve had two
significant arbitration wins.
The first brought a long time member at Coke back to work after a blatantly wrongful termination.
The second awards a large group of warehouse workers at Breakthru Beverage the double-time wages they were contractually owed but long denied, dating back over a year.

The application for the 2026 Teamsters Scholarship Fund is now open!

High school seniors from the Class of 2026 who are the financial dependent of a Teamster in good standing are encouraged to apply for the scholarship by April 1, 2026. Scholarships are available for use toward a four-year college or university degree as well as training and vocational programs that are related to work in a Teamsters-represented industry, class, or craft.

After months on the picket line, 160 Teamsters have won their strike against Breakthru Beverage at facilities throughout Florida. Members voted today to ratify a strong first contract that will protect and reward drivers in Tampa, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Orlando, Pensacola, and Tallahassee exactly 400 days after voting to join the Teamsters Union.

The three-year contract delivers major wage increases, improved paid leave, and key union protections, including seniority protections and a guaranteed 40-hour work week.

“Breakthru Beverage picked a fight with the wrong union,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “For 400 days, these drivers stood on the line, every single day, and never once backed down. The company tried every dirty trick to divide our members, but we didn’t flinch. Our members didn’t give in. And today, the Teamsters have won. Let this be a warning: if you try to test the resolve of Teamsters, you will always fail.”

Breakthru Beverage is one of the largest beverage wholesalers in North America, operating in 15 states, as well as Canada and the District of Columbia. The Teamsters represent thousands of workers in the wine and liquor industry, including hundreds at Breakthru locations nationwide.

Secretary-Treasurer Kris Knight, and Agent Nick Hartse hit the road today to show their support for the Nurses in Iowa that are organizing with Teamsters Local 90. UnityPoint Health has subjected them to a massive anti-union campaign, and are standing strong in the lead up to their vote!

Local 792 staff joined Teamsters Local 320 on the picket line yesterday to support their 1400 members on strike at the University of Minnnesota. They are fighting for fair wages after insultingly low offers. You can show your support today at 5:30 PM, Northrop Plaza!
