💙 What Does Your Donation Support? ❤️
At Abbigail's Precious Heart, every single donation helps us bring comfort, encouragement, and support to children and families facing long-term hospital stays.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, every dollar donated goes directly back into our mission creating care bags for long-term patients at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. While our primary focus is supporting families in the Heart Unit, our bags are also able to reach children in other units who need a little extra comfort during difficult days.
Each bag costs approximately $60–$70 to create, depending on sales and donations we are able to find throughout the year. We carefully shop during Back-to-School season and Black Friday deals to stretch every dollar as far as possible.
Inside each bag, we include thoughtful items meant to bring both comfort and practicality:
✨ A durable foldable bag for hospital storage
✨ A laser-engraved tumbler
✨ Notebook, folder, and pen
✨ A cozy blanket
✨ A small stuffed animal for the bedside
This year, we hope to add even more comfort items like snacks, cozy socks, and gift cards for families spending long days and nights in the hospital.
Thanks to generous community donations, we are also sometimes able to include extra special touches like Color Street nails, journals, keychains, and other donated items that help brighten someone’s day.
We also offer personalized “Request Bags” for children facing especially long hospital stays without a discharge date. These bags are created specifically for the child and family. We learn about their interests and favorite things so we can make the bag feel personal and meaningful.

Recently, we shipped one of these personalized bags all the way to Arizona for a very special little girl and her mother who have been inpatient for several weeks. This particular bag was deeply personal to me because her mom is an old friend, and seeing what their family is going through truly touched my heart.
Moments like these are why this mission matters so much.
