As the summer hits its stride, we are going to be sharing some stories of our amazing volunteers and how they have helped create the MyXC you all know and love, starting off with Wendy and the whole Cregg family back at the beginning of Minnesota Youth Ski League.

Three generations. One passion. ❤️❄️

Nearly 30 years ago, Wendy Cregg helped start a MYSL club so her son could discover the joy of skiing.

Today, Wendy coaches alongside that same son while watching her grandchildren ski the very trails that continue their family's story.

For the Creggs, skiing has always been about more than snow.

It's about confidence.
It's about family.
It's about volunteering.
It's about finding joy outdoors—even on the coldest Minnesota days.

Because when you share something you love with a child, that passion has the power to last for generations.

Thank you, Cregg family, for inspiring all of us to embrace winter together. 💙

A note from the desk of our Executive Director:
Three days remain in our spring fundraising campaign — and thanks to this amazing community, we are already halfway to our $5,000 goal.

I care deeply about MyXC because I know what skiing can do for kids and families. Confident and resilient children experiencing joy outdoors become lifelong skiers, leaders, volunteers, and strong community members. That matters.

MyXC introduces thousands of kids and families to skiing every year in welcoming, community-centered clubs across the Midwest. We do this work with incredible volunteers, but financial support from our broader community is still critical to sustaining and growing this mission.

In these final days, we are hoping to add just 10 new sustaining members.

A monthly gift helps MyXC continue providing:
Scholarships for new skiers
Affordable equipment and gear
Volunteer and coach support
Welcoming clubs and outdoor experiences for families across all communities

A note from the desk of our Executive Director:

Dear MyXC families and friends,

As some of you may know, I was recently awarded the Minnesota Nordic Ski Association Lifetime Achievement Award. I'm very proud to have received this honor and to be apart of our very special Midwest ski community.

I am committed to the mission of MyXC because I know how much work it takes to development Lifetime Skiers (we have done the research on this); but I also know how much that means. Lifetime skiers are set up for a lifetime of achievement.

MyXC is an integral part of what make Minnesota and the Midwest so incredibly special. We are the doorway into the sport and together we have brought thousands of skiers every year into our clubs and into the community.

We have built the premiere youth ski organization in North America with diversity that matches our population and proven skills development.

We do this work with thousands of dedicated volunteers, but financial support from the larger community is still critical to our mission.

Please help us balance our fiscal budget!
Our goal is $5000 by May 31st.

$125 gives a full scholarship for a new skier
$100 outfits a new adult skier that wants to volunteer on snow
$25 buys a famous MyXC fleece hat
$5 any amount helps!

Skicraft is designed for junior skiers ready to transition from casual skiing to structured, goal-oriented training. We believe in providing high-level, coordinated support that fits into a student-athlete's busy life.

Our Core Commitments:

1. Equal commitment to all skiers.
2. Working with high school programs to meet skier goals.
3. Participation in the regional CXC Cup events.
4. Training plan management for skiers built with their input.
5. Building skiers' body awareness over time.
6. Affordability and Accessibility.

Huge congratulations to our Executive Director, Amy Cichanowski! ❄️

We are thrilled to announce that Amy has been honored with the Minnesota Nordic Skiing Association (MNSA) Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Amy Cichanowski is the heart and soul of youth cross-country skiing in Minnesota,” said Jeremiah Schimp, Chair of the MYSL Board of Directors. “Her passion, vision, and tireless commitment have shaped the lives of thousands of young skiers across our state. This Lifetime Achievement Award from MNSA is a tribute not only to her remarkable career, but to the lasting legacy she is building every single day.”
