Each year, the Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation presents financial awards to those who meet the application criteria.

This year, 2025, marked the 28th anniversary of The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation.

Across 28 scholarship seasons, we have awarded $710,800 in scholarships to 507 deserving students in barbering and cosmetology.

The Mission of the Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation:

To help deserving students receive financial assistance for the professional training necessary to build successful, long-term careers in the cosmetology industry.

In honor of the life, work, and memory of Joseph Francis, 1933-1994, born into poverty, who achieved worldwide success through sacrifice, hard work, and determination.

Celebrating the legacy of dedication and passion in the hairstyling industry, inspired by the hard work and generosity of Joe and Flo Francis.

Daughter, and President of the Foundation, Barbara Francis, announced, “My parents worked tirelessly to strengthen the industry and elevate the hairstyling profession. They believed it offered a path to self-fulfillment and reward. Joe and Flo were determined to help deserving individuals launch their career, wanting to give back to an industry that gave them so much.”
